It’s our pleasure to introduce our founder Pearl, a lifelong cannabis enthusiast and seasoned professional in the industry. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Pearl’s love for the quaint town of Lone Pine blossomed from annual visits she made with her husband, ultimately leading her to set up a cannabis dispensary here.

Pearl’s affection for cannabis isn’t just about consumption—it’s also about the process. Her product of choice for a hypothetical desert island scenario? A pound of Sour Diesel and palm leaves for rolling. Old school to her core, Pearl takes great pride in rolling her own joints and has a profound appreciation for the therapeutic process it entails.

Pearl’s zeal for cannabis is not just limited to her personal use. With her first dispensary opened in 2009 and several others since, Pearl has been an active participant in the evolution of the cannabis industry. Her hopes for the future of cannabis include it being broadly embraced for its medicinal benefits.  Pearl is also the co-founder of a trade association for licensed dispensaries and is preparing to open San Diego’s first cannabis consumption lounge in the coming year.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Pearl immerses herself in a myriad of creative pursuits, from penning songs to crafting unique pieces. A homebody at heart, she finds immense joy in caring for her diverse collection of pets, ranging from dogs and cats to chickens, goats, and a cuddly bunny. Her sanctuary is her home, where she often retreats to her dedicated meditation room for solace and inspiration.

When it comes to customer service, Pearl’s innate empathy shines through, fostering a deep connection with her customers. She takes pride in guiding skeptics toward an understanding and appreciation of cannabis, encouraging them to approach their options with the same mindfulness they would apply to their nutritional choices. Above all, Pearl finds immense satisfaction in enhancing her customers’ holistic well-being, regardless of whether they seek cannabis for recreational or medicinal purposes.

Born and raised in San Diego, CA, with a cherished childhood in Baja California, Alex’s profound love for nature was nurtured early on. Alex’s life isn’t just rooted in his love for cannabis and nature, it’s also intimately woven with the journey of his beloved wife and co-founder, Pearl. They embarked on their cannabis adventure together in 2009, cultivating multiple successful storefronts, with Sage & Fire in Lone Pine being the jewel in their crown.

Infused in their personal and professional life is their mutual love for nature, driving them towards regular excursions to the Eastern Sierra and idyllic visits to Lone Pine. Pearl’s influence is vividly visible in Alex’s favorite pastime—savoring meticulously rolled joints of top-shelf flower, a Pearl specialty. Alex’s professional ethos is defined by his unwavering belief in the power of knowledge and empowerment. Away from work, Alexis indulges in her love for the arts through painting and music. She’s also a keen adventurer, often accompanied by her beloved dog, and our shop’s resident mascot, Chevy. Not to mention, she’s a huge cartoon fan, with Spongebob Squarepants reigning supreme as her favorite.

His work here is a vibrant blend of his heritage, dedication, and love for nature. Presenting Chevy – your first point of contact at Sage & Fire. Don’t be fooled by his size; Chevy may be a runt-sized pitbull, but his spirit and heart are 100 times his stature. A bundle of enthusiasm and energy, Chevy is our General Manager Alexis’ right-hand companion and the proud mascot of our dispensary.

Born and bred in sunny San Diego, Chevy traded the city for the tranquil mountains and enchanting wilderness of Lone Pine. Alexis and Chevy share an unbreakable bond, and when she made the move, there was no question that Chevy would be by her side. Since then, his antics and boundless love have made him a beloved character in the Sage & Fire family.

At Sage & Fire, Chevy wears many hats – or leashes, if you will. He has the critical responsibility of checking IDs, a task he performs with great diligence and an uncanny knack for spotting the underage. He’s also our official greeter, always ready with a wagging tail and enthusiastic sniff to welcome customers and their canine companions. Chevy’s particular expertise in squirrel-chasing keeps our outdoor space lively, adding to the vibrant atmosphere at Sage & Fire.
