This award is a testament to the innovation, dedication, and exemplary design aesthetics that have been implemented into our Lone Pine location, a former storage shed turned into a unique boutique cannabis retail destination.
Our founders, Pearl and Alex, always envisioned a space that was more than just a retail outlet. They dreamt of creating a meeting place, a point of communion that represented the ethos of Sage and Fire, and more importantly, the essence of the Lone Pine community. It was with this dream in mind that they sought out the skills and expertise of Heleo Architecture and Design.
Heleo, armed with the mission to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, embarked on a journey to metamorphose an old storage shed into a modern, vernacular masterpiece. This wasn’t a job of mere renovation; it was a mission of total transformation, of completely reimagining a structure from its core.
The façade of Sage and Fire relies heavily on Corten steel, a material that personifies the essence of our brand and the Lone Pine community. The Corten steel, known for its weathering characteristics, lends an ever-evolving beauty to the exterior. Its enchanting rust provides a captivating charm that only grows more pronounced with time. This choice of material allowed us to meet the design aesthetics set by the Lone Pine Architectural Review Board, creating a harmonious balance between our modernist vision and the local architectural heritage.
Wrapping the structure from roof to walls, this new envelope of weathering steel blends modern elements with vernacular design aesthetics. The result is a breathtaking architectural marvel that stands as a testament to the transformational power of design and a symbol of the progressive ethos of Sage and Fire: Kindness, Empathy, and Purpose.
This accolade, awarded by AIA California, underscores our commitment to serving our community with an experience that is just as exceptional as the products we offer. It is a testament to the fact that the journey of Sage and Fire is more than just about cannabis retail—it is about creating a unique destination that reflects the spirit of our community and our patrons.
