Position Summary
You are the face of our brand and outstanding service is our number one priority! You’ll be ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable experience at our store by discussing product options, brand stories, and cannabis information. A good portion of your time will be spent maintaining the premises, auditing inventory, and any other operational or administrative tasks assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfilling customer service and sales objectives; knowledgeable, respectful, and professional communications customers when answering phone calls, taking orders, providing consultations, and fulfilling deliveries
- Professional & respectful dialogue with Sage & Fire staff, business affiliates, and community allies
- Be available and participate in the development and fulfillment of community programs, events, workshops, entertainment, and initiatives conducted to improve community relations and business goals
- Take directive on new tasks and initiatives, company policy and procedure changes introduced via meeting and/or written and verbal communiqué
- Must be well educated and familiar with all products offered, brand stories, production processes, as well as product effects, cannabinoid & terpene properties, and consumption methods. Be comfortable discussing customer treatment goals and recommending products/consumption options and dosing
- Greet customers upon arrival, provide an explanation of the retail floor, services offered, and thank customers upon departure
- Ensure the cleanliness of the workstations, product displays, and back areas at all times, including at store opening and closing each day
- Interact with customers on site as well as over the phone, collecting feedback on the goods and services provided by our dispensary. Communicate with management regarding customer feedback, inventory requests, and inventory needs
- Operate front desk computer, check-in patients, update patient files, and process patient documents
- Be knowledgeable of any and all discounts and specials
- When possible, read industry publications to stay up-to-date on cannabis culture & trends (articles posted by management are required reading)
- Remain familiar with industry compliance and regulatory requirements as applicable to retail operations (such as: Medical versus Recreational, weight conversions, minimum age purchasing laws, etc.)
- Ensure each guest receives your full attention during their transaction
- Keep all personal items off the sales floor at all times
- Ensure you are on time for each and every shift
- Ensure your uniform is clean and you have all tools at your station prepared for your shift
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned by any other Manager or Superior
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older (State Cannabis Law Requirement)
- Must be able to input and access information in point of sales system and comfortable with computers and software technologies
- Must be able to follow all company cash handling policies and maintain an accurate cash drawer at all times
- Must be able to articulate well and write legibly
- Must be comfortable learning new skills and adapting as policies and procedures change
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual for all shifts, meetings, and outings
- Must be able to meet and uphold all of Sage & Fire’s standards, policies, and procedures
- Preferred (not required) work experience as bartender, wait staff, catering, or other hospitality-industry position
- Preferred (not required) one or more years of direct retail or budtending experience
- Preferred (not required) cannabis industry background or extensive knowledge of cannabis culture
Skills and Attitudes
- Must be motivated, hardworking, and passionate about cannabis. This position requires someone who is a strong multitasker with the ability to handle multiple duties and responsibilities
- Be great at customer service: Must be positive and welcoming and have a great, outgoing attitude, along with a hard work ethic
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
- Prioritize, organize, and follow directions thoroughly
- Be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using good judgment
- Listen and understand guest needs
- Work cohesively and professionally with co-workers
Physical Demands/Requirements
The following are constant demands for this position:
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly, as required
- Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work days, nights, holidays and weekends regularly
